Group classes

Our group dog training classes in Yorktown, VA focus on real-world obedience, calm behavior, and consistency — not perfect dogs in unrealistic settings. At The Good Dog Yorktown, we run structured, small-group classes that teach dogs to listen around distractions while helping owners understand how to maintain progress at home.

These classes are ideal for dogs who struggle with focus, leash manners, or reliability outside the house, and for owners who want clear guidance, accountability, and practical results they can live with. These classes may not be the right fit if you’re looking for a quick fix or hands-off solution, your dog has severe aggression, or you’re uncomfortable working around other dogs and people.

If you’re unsure whether group class is the right fit, we’re always happy to help you decide. In some cases, starting with private lessons or a board & train program leads to better long-term results.
