DISCLOSURE: Our group classes move at a fast pace and include up to 8 dogs. If you have difficulty with walking, hearing, strength or stamina, we recommend beginning with private lessons. This allows us to move at your pace and ensure both you and your pup stay safe and successful throughout training.
Puppy Fundamentals
If you have a dog that is younger than 8 months, we recommend starting in this class.
This class focuses on many vital things such as:
- Socializing your puppy around other dogs and people
- Leash manners (no more pulling)!
- Basic commands like sit, down, place
- Recall (get your dog to come every time you call them)
- Breaking bad habits like jumping, barking, biting, etc.
- How to handle houseguests more efficiently
- Building engagement and focus on the owner
- Promoting a calmer state of mind in busy environments
- Grooming and desensitizing to new grooming tools
- Handling your dog and vet visit success
- Crate training positively
- Teaching appropriate play manners and "drop-it" command
- Confidence building for shy or nervous dogs
- Potty training advice and information
Puppy class is essential for confidence building and socialization, great for any size puppy. The earlier you start training, the less likely your puppy is to develop bad habits. It's important to know that dogs do not "grow out of" puppy habits - the more they practice bad behaviors in puppyhood, the more likely those behaviors will stick around into adulthood.
